Just so that everyone knows what I'm talking about, here's a link and a video:

I'm well aware that many Mega Man fans have lost a lot of respect for Capcom over the constant cancellations of the Mega Man games. However, in this case, I feel that it's good this one was canceled. In my honest opinion, it just doesn't have that "Mega Man" feel to it. I mean, sure it looks awesome to some, but I just can't feel it. In this picture, Mega Man looks like Cobra Commander trying to impersonate the Terminator. It just doesn't work. I kind of understand what was trying to be done with the whole FPS system and trying to revive the series so that it meets modern standards, but it seems lacking in style.

If Capcom really wanted to make a revival of the series without being cowards about it, they could look at the New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Wii U games for some kind of approach. An idea I have is if they were to keep the original Mega Man formula, while keeping the characters the way they are, they could just update the graphics and make them much smoother. I mean, the "defeat the robot masters of every level and obtain their powers" formula would remain, but the graphics would look smoother, without repeating the mistakes of Mega Man X7. This could work if there was ever going to be a new Mega Man X game. This is just something that I would recommend to Capcom if they were seriously open to suggestions that would help them start a project and stick with it at the same time.

With all of the Mega Man games released over the years, I always saw the game as colorful, but dark at the same time (for example, the Mega Man Zero series). This project wouldn't have worked. Recently, I read somewhere that Mega Man Universe, Mega Man Online and Mega Man Legends 3 were all canceled because they didn't meet the company's expectations. It feels like a weak explanation, and there has to be a better reason as to why these games keep getting canceled.  Mega Man Online I can understand, but Mega Man Legends 3 would have met expectations. It would have even sold well.

I had to get this out in the open. It feels like the series had shut down after Keiji Inafune (the creator of the Mega Man series) left Capcom. There are legions of Mega Man fans out there, and they, myself included, wish for the Blue Bomber to make a return.
